Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, serving students in Kindergarten through Grade 8, is located in Seminole, Florida. Directive from the OCSC regarding H1N1 PDF Print E-mail
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has amended, once again, its guidance to elementary and secondary schools regarding their response to H1N1.  In light of the updated guidance, we will follow the directives from the CDC.  

What does this mean for our schools?  The decision to close a school and/or cancel activities will be made locally using the criteria provided by the CDC, namely that the operational mission of the school can not be fulfilled due to the large number of students or faculty members who are absent.

In the previous directive from this Office, we required the physician to complete our form indicating that the student did not have H1N1 before the child was allowed back to school.  We will no longer require a student who is absent to return the doctor’s form before being allowed to return to school, except in the event that the student’s absence was the result of a confirmed diagnosis of H1N1.

Following the lead of the experts at the CDC, I believe the above listed amendment to the previous directive is appropriate and will continue to safeguard the health and well-being of the entire school community.

THRESHERS Family Fun Night for BSCS PDF Print E-mail

Keep Saturday, September 5th open for our first Family Fun Night at the Ballpark.  Enjoy an exciting evening with family and friends at BrightHouse Field on US 19 and Drew St.  Gates open at 5:00 with the game beginning at 6:30.  The price of $15 per person ( age 4 and under free) includes the game ticket and all you can eat and drink from 5-8 p.m.  The food and drink includes hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, peanuts, popcorn, chips, ice cream sandwiches, soft drinks and bottled water.  There will also be Post-Game Fireworks!  The school will receive $4.00 from every ticket sold.  Order forms will be sent home the first week of school. 

 
Safe Environment Program PDF Print E-mail

Fingerprint Submission Registration is designed to allow church personnel a means to process fingerprint-based criminal history background screening checks in accordance with the Diocese of St. Petersburg (DOSP) Policy for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults. This Level II screening process will be completed by an electronic fingerprint submission to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Volunteer, Employee, Criminal History System (FDLE/VECHS) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Non-Criminal Justice Computer System (FBI/CJIS). Using electronic processing, church personnel and applicants can schedule a fingerprint-taking session with a designated print-taker, submit a set of 10-print fingerprints to the FDLE/FBI, and have the results submitted to their respective parishes, schools, early childhood centers, and or other diocesan organizations.
