Who: Open to students in grades 1-8 Parents who would like to volunteer to help or learn to play are also welcome to attend
Where: Art Room (location may move if the group gets larger than 25 students)
When: Mondays from 3:00 until 3:45 (students not picked up by 4:00 in the Art Room will be taken to extended day) Starting: September 7, 2009
Cost: None
Our goals: Have fun playing chess. Learn to play a better game of chess. Practice good sportsmanship.
Expectations: Students who attend are expected to be respectful of others and be here to learn & play chess. Given that students will be at a variety of different levels, more advanced students hopefully will be willing to help those with less ability.
What can you bring: A chess set (we will need at least one for each pair of students). I have one, and have ordered 5 more plus a demonstration board to teach from.
Students may bring a snack and drink to eat before they play.
