Call for Parents to be Judges - The Florida Science Olympiad Committee is asking that each team provide at least two judge volunteers to help during the state competition on April 11.  There will be a judges training session on Wednesday, March 3 at 5:30 pm at UCF.  If you are interested, please contact Ms. Pucillo at school 391-4060 or by e-mail at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it  

 

February 1, 2010Regional Competition Update       Please return your Press Release Form signed by your parents.  This form was sent home last week with the Regional information letter.       Sign Code of Conduct posted on the board in the Science Lab.       It is mandatory that all students wear long pants (jeans or khakis) and close-toe shoes such as tennis shoes at the regional completion.       A  team member has been scheduled for two events at 9:00 am so we are in need of someone to step-in to compete in Bio-processing lab.

 

January 26, 2010Dear Science Olympiad Team Members and families,I just received the following information about our Regional Competition on Saturday, February 20 at Clearwater Central Catholic, and want to pass it along to you.          The day’s schedule is on the reverse side of this letter with the time each event is being held.  You will notice that each event is held twice once for block A and block B.  We are in block A, therefore plan to be at your event with the letter A next to it.  (We are assigned to Block A and our school number is B-2.)        Clearwater Central Catholic is located at 2750 Haines Bayshore Road in Clearwater, and I have included a map of there campus.  There is presently a change in traffic patterns at Haines Bayshore Rd. and US19, so please read the attached information regarding these changes.        Please arrive at 8:00 to allow for registration and time to impounding of equipment if you event requires it.  Breakfast/Lunch will be available for about $5 for students which will include an entrée, drink and dessert.  You may want to pack a snack.        Attached is a Press and Website Release form.  Please complete the form which includes a parent signature and return it to me as soon as possible.           Remember, the science lab is open after school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for you to prepare and meet with team members. I’m confident that you will do a great job representing our school, and hope his will be a fun and memorable experience for you.Ms. Pucillo 

 

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TRAFFIC PATTERNS AT HAINES BAYSHORE RD AND US 19 We have been advised by a contractor working for the Florida Department of Transpor- tation (DOT)  that major changes are planned for US 19 near Haines Bayshore Road.   Specifically, crossovers at US 19 will be closed at: Haines Bayshore Rd. (and the traffic light removed)Harn Rd.  Nursery Rd. Access to CCCHS will be as follows: From the South: heading North on US 19 or the service road, turn right on Haines Bayshore Rd. as before. From the North: heading South on US 19, go past Haines Bayshore Rd. and exit at Whitney Rd.; make a U-turn under the overpass and proceed north on US 19 or the service road to Haines Bayshore and turn right. Leaving CCC will be as follows:Heading North: Only a right turn onto US 19 will be permitted heading North.  Heading South: Access from Haines Bayshore Rd. to US 19 south will no longer be permitted.  To go south on US 19, first turn north (right) and then make a U-turn at Belleair Rd. —— OR —— Turn right out of CCC onto Haines Bayshore Rd.; turn right on Wolford; left on Whitney; and right on 58th St N to Roosevelt.  The crossover at Haines Bayshore and US 19 should be closed and the traffic light removed in mid-December.  These changes are permanent.
